Phil Bak - Chief Cannonball Officer

Phil Bak founded Cannonball Safety after realizing that America had plenty of consultants, plenty of compliance experts, and plenty of people with “strategic frameworks” — but not nearly enough adults in the room asking the hard question:

“Is anyone watching these cannonballs?”

For more than 40 years, Phil has had what industry insiders describe as “an unusually serious relationship with spherical ordnance.” While other children collected baseball cards, Phil studied cannonball radius, roll patterns, blast etiquette, and the emotional temperament of cast iron.

By adulthood, he had become one of the nation’s most trusted voices in cannonball safety, cannonball awareness, and cannonball-adjacent risk management.

Phil believes every cannonball has a story. Usually that story is: “I am extremely heavy, poorly understood, and capable of ruining your afternoon.”

Under Phil’s leadership, Cannonball Safety has become the gold standard for organizations that want to protect their employees, impress their insurers, and avoid the awkward all-hands meeting where someone has to explain why Todd no longer has arms.

Phil’s philosophy is simple:

Respect the ball.
Secure the ball.
Never turn your back on the ball.

When he’s not advising Fortune 500 companies on cannonball best practices, Phil enjoys inspecting storage racks, reading historical cannon manuals, and reminding strangers at parties that “loose cannon” was originally a workplace safety term.

He lives by the company motto:

Safety is our priority. Cannonballs are our passion. Arms are not guaranteed.
